Jack Black completely forgot he starred in The Holiday but fans forgive him
Jack Black looked like a deer in headlights during an interview with Variety when he forgot he starred in a Christmas movie.
The Hollywood legend spoke to the publication while on the red carpet for his 2019 film Jumanji: The Next Level and was asked about his favorite holiday watch. However, he named a completely different film to the 2006 festive rom-com and looked extremely sheepish when he was reminded of his role. Jack stars as Miles, a film composer who falls for Iris (Kate Winslet) who exchanges homes with Cameron Doaz’s character Amanda.
‘Do I have a Christmas movie?’ asks Jack Black
During his chat with the Variety reporter, she asked him: “What would you say is your number one holiday film that you have to watch every year?” and Jack responded with Elf.
He explained: “You know what it’s gotta be Elf. ‘Cause once again Jon Favreau – I don’t know if I’m saying it right and Will Ferrell knocking it out of the park.”
Jack then looked confused as the reporter replied: “I appreciate the humility [but you could’ve said your own movie.”

After an awkward pause, Jack Black, bewildered, asked: “Do I have a Christmas movie? Which one is mine?”
The celebrity was reminded of his 2006 fan-favorite film and exclaimed: “Oh, The Holiday! Obviously The Holiday!” before calling the director Nancy Meyers, who also directed The Parent Trap a “genius.”
Fans say they ‘love’ him as they laugh at his blunder
In the comments, fans shared their love for both Jack Black and his Christmas movie The Holiday.

However, others said they didn’t think The Holiday was a Christmas film.

Jack was ‘glad’ he didn’t have to do big kissing scenes
In an interview from 2006, the year the film premiered, the 54-year-old said he was happy to miss make out scenes with Kate as he isn’t a fan of public displays of affection.
“Not bummed, in fact, I was worried they were going to try to sneak one in. Just because, oh God, I am not one for big public displays of affection and you can’t get more public than in a major motion picture.
“So I was relieved that our story was the sweet one and the other one was the full tongues-a-blazin’,” he said.
He added about the role: “It was a challenge; I don’t usually show the soft and cuddlies. I think I am getting a little red right now.”
