Luke Combs' wife blindsided after he drops song about their children without telling her
Luke Combs shared a snippet of a new song about his sons, but it was just as suprising to his wife as it was for his fans.
The country music star uploaded a clip of a song called ‘The Man He Sees in Me’ on Wednesday. The celebrity asked his followers if they like where the song is heading, only sharing a small part of the record. But it appears Luke Combs wife was just as surprised for the star asking for feedback, and also what the song was about – their children.
Luke Combs wife ’emotional’ after hearing teaser for his new song

The song references his life as a dad to their two sons, Tex and Beau, who are 20 months and six months old.
The moving lyrics from the teaser had Luke Combs fans emotional, and his wife appeared to be affected by it as well!
The 31, among his 6.1 million Instagram followers, felt compelled to comment on the post too.
She wrote: “You can’t just drop this and not tell me.
“Blindsided and emotional.”
Wife Nicole, 31, expressed love for the song when Luke Combs first teased it during an acoustic performance on the app earlier this year.
In January, the music star told fans he had a “whole bunch” of dad songs lined up because they liked them so much. At the time, Nicole posted three fire emojis to show her support, however, it appears the recent drop has had her a bit more emotional.
As the celebrity has shared a snippet of the hit it sounds like he’s been in the studio but hasn’t revealed details about it’s release, or another album.
His previous record, Gettin’ Old, came out last March and included a cover of Tracy Chapman’s Fast Car. Luke performed the hit with Chapman at this year’s Grammy Awards.
‘The Man He Sees In Me’
Let’s take a look at the lyrics of Luke Combs’ new track, and why his wife Nicole probably choked back tears.
“Well I hope he never finds out that I didn’t hang the moon / And I’ve never scared a monster out the closet in his room,” Luke sings.
“Some day between him leaving home and driving on my knee / Maybe I’ll finally be the man he sees in me.”
Followers are already sold on the song though.
One wrote: “I love how he asks us our opinion like it’s not already going to be the best song ever regardless because he’s singing it. Or wrote it. lol.”
A second added: “Wasn’t planning to cry this early in the morning but ok”.
A third joked: “Welp I guess it’s about that time. That I listen to nothing besides a @lukecombs album for the next 3 months”
