Priscilla Presley has opened up on her final moments with daughter Lisa Marie just days before her tragic death. The pair’s heartwarming final moments together took place at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, however, Priscilla knew then, that something wasn’t right with her daughter.

Lisa Marie sadly passed away on January 12 this year, at age 54 from a small bowel obstruction. Just two days before, the mother and daughter were out celebrating the success of the Elvis movie at the Golden Globes, as Austin Butler picked up Best Actor for his role as the music legend.

Priscilla recalls final moment with her daughter

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter Priscilla Presley opened up about her ‘fun’ final memory with her daughter, although she ‘knew something was wrong’ at the time.

The two had just arrived at the Chateau Marmont to celebrate the success of the Hollywood blockbuster, Elvis, as the 78-year-old recalls:

“We had just gotten there, you go down all these stairs. I tripped a little bit because I had these high heels on, and she started laughing so hard. I started laughing. We hadn’t even had a drink yet. She goes, ‘Oh my God, Mom, you can’t even have a drink.'”

“It was a fun, fun memory,” Presley said. However, in the moments after, the singer-songwriter told her mother that her stomach hurt “really bad.” The two got up immediately and left as Priscilla told the publication: “I did know there was something not right.”

Just two days after the event, Lisa’s ex-husband, Danny Keough, called Priscilla to tell her that her daughter was in the hospital.

Unfortunately, by the time she’d gotten there, Lisa Marie had already passed away, as she said: “I still can’t believe it. I don’t wish this on any mother.”

Priscilla Presley ‘so nervous’ for fans to see her life

Just over a year after the film showcasing her ex-husband, director Sofia Coppola is releasing a movie based on Priscilla’s life. The film will be based on her 1985 memoir, Elvis and Me, however, the star revealed to THR that she was nervous about how audiences would react to the movie.

“I’m so nervous because it’s my life. The people who are watching, they’re living it with you, and you hope and pray that they get it. They get your feelings, your hurts, your sensitivity.”

Cailee Spenny will be playing the lead role, with Elvis being played by Euphoria’s Austin Butler.

Elvis and Priscilla were married for six years, from 1967 to 1973, and had their only child together, Lisa Marie in 1968. Priscilla also has a son, Navarone Garibaldi with film producer Marco Garibaldi.
